Introduction
Bluetooth is a short-range (range is approximately 10 meters) frequency-hopping radio link projected to substitute the cables connecting portable and/or fixed electronic devices. There are three key features of Bluetooth and those are low complexity, low power, and low cost. The Bluetooth cards come with many helpful features, such as multipoint, security, and high data rates. Generally, Bluetooth can be used for several applications but the key applications are interaction between mobile phone with a headset and keyboard/mouse with a PC, mobile phone with a PDA, PC with a printer, mobile phone with a PC, and car with a mobile phone. Bluetooth card is very useful in everyday life since it allows us to connect and synchronize several devices easily and without any physical connections. It is important to study this protocol since many leading manufacturers of consumer electronics support this device. The companies in the Bluetooth SIG (Special Interest Group) include 3Com, Agere, Ericsson, IBM, Intel, Microsoft, Motorola, Nokia and Toshiba. Even though it is not a customary, wide support from these manufacturers will make it a successful protocol since they are some of the leading manufacturers in their fields.
