IPv6
IPv6 (IP Version 6) is the "Next "Generation" of
the Internet Protocol that will solve the problem of depleting network addresses
by extending IP addresses from 32 to 128 bits. There is no direct
comparison between IPv6 and NAT, except for the relation that NAT is delaying
the implementation of IPv6.
Advantages of
IPv6:
 |
larger address space |
 |
efficient and
extensible IP datagram |
 |
efficient route
computation and aggregation |
 |
improved host and
router discovery |
 |
mandated new
stateless and stateful address auto configuration |
 |
mandated security for
IP datagrams |
 |
easy renumbering |
