Data Synchronization Schemes in Arbitrarily Connected Networks

The aim of the research is to come up with optimal schemes of synchronization in arbitrarily connected (possibly dynamic) networks. The parameters that have to be looked at are: latency, number of synchronizations, communication complexity, adaptability to a changing network topology etc. We plan to come up with a scheme of synchronization which assumes nothing about the network topology, but adapts itself to the given network.
