Algorithms for advanced channel reservation in ultra high speed

networks - 09/08/2006

Niloofar Fazlollahi

Many scientific applications in this era involve huge volume of data which should be transferred reliably and quickly to geographically distributed sites. TCP/IP is proved to be inefficient and therefore, incapable of performing such operations. New protocol stack based on 'advanced channel reservation' has been introduced in parallel to TCP/IP for such operations. After taking a brief look at work done on advanced channel reservation and pointing out limitaiotns of the related work, I'll explain our algorithm, its contributions and advantages. I'll confirm its efficiency by illustrating our simulation results, and then conclude my presentation.
