The Observable Wireless Sensor Testbed - 09/09/2005

Stephen Chao and Danny Morris

In this talk we will discuss the wireless sensor testbed that was deployed this past summer on the 4th floor of the Photonics building. A brief overview of the MICA2 mote hardware will be presented, followed by an introduction to the TinyOS operating system that forms the heart of network operations. This will be followed by a look at the network monitoring toolkit we have assembled, some limitations of our system, and a live demonstration of the Viewer GUI. To wrap up, we will outline some ways in which the network can be employed and improved upon in the future.
